Job Description:
I graduated from RIT JPHB program in 1999 and became a Certified Retinal Angiographer in 2001.
Today I oversee the imaging department staff and equipment for a large private multi-specialty ophthalmology practice-Virginia Eye Institute. The department is responsible for all the imaging needs of 29 Ophthalmologists and 3 Optometrists. Some of the daily tasks performed by the department include film and digital stereo fundus photography, fluorescein angiography, Optical Coherence Tomography, photo slit-lamp biomicrography, corneal topography, ocular ultrasounds, digital image processing and printing, and IOL Master. I oversee protocols made by the other photographers, and have worked with some of the latest instruments and technology that the world of ophthalmic photography has to share.
Virginia Eye Institute was a great place to get a start in ophthalmic photography, and still is a wonderful place to work. I have developed excellent interpersonal communication skills with energetic, ambitious, service-oriented photographers, including myself. With VEI being a large institute for eye care, I work at several different office locations.
Here's a view of the river that runs right outside of the main office at VEI.
